Preparation of No.1 1. Dissolve TERGITOL nonionic NPX in an equal weight of water, add the silicone oil, and stir until thoroughly mixed. TERGITOL NPX can be added directly to the silicone oil without being first dissolved in an equal weight of water, but the resulting emulsions tend to increase in viscosity after standing several days.
2. Add water, a small portion at a time, with steady stirring and incorporate each portion thoroughly before making another addition.
3. When the emulsion has passed through a very viscous stage and becomes fluid, the remaining water can be added slowly, but continuously, with constant stirring. The emulsion can then be stored for later dilution.
Preparation of No.2 1. Add the oleic acid and morpholine to the silicone oil, mix well, and proceed as directed in (2) and (3) above.
Preparation of No.3 1. Add the oleic acid and morpholine to the silicone resin solution C-25 and mix thoroughly.
